Did you know there are more than one million fires reported in the U.S. every year? These fires caused thousands of deaths and injuries, and billions of dollars in property damage, that could have been prevented.
With the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) observing Fire Prevention Week from October 8-14, now is a great time to remind your family of the risks. Have a plan in place in case of a fire. Practice the plan so your family will be prepared if needed.
There are great tips and suggestions to review with your family at http://www.nfpa.org/fpw.
If you are a business owner, now is a great time to have fire prevention awareness classes. It is also a perfect time to have a fire drill to be sure all your employees know the exact exit plans in case of a fire. Also be sure you have an accountability system in place so that all employees can be reported in safely. Be sure to inspect fire sprinklers, fire alarms, and fire extinguisher on a regular basis.
Be aware, be ready, and stay safe.
All the best from your friends at Pritchards & Associates.
